When Ali changed his favorite color from green to red just a week before Christmas, I imposed a new rule- no changing your favorite color in the month before Christmas or your birthday.
Almost all of his presents were green, purposely chosen to please his picky color palette. We kept asking him if he was going to like his green presents, and he would say no, he was going to hate them. Luckily I did manage to get a comfy red scarf crocheted in the short time I had left, and he really didn't hate the green, either.
