diagnosis

It turns out I have a raging case of strep throat- ack! The doc prescribed horse pills.
Hopefully I'm not contagious anymore.
I took Leila's temperature yesterday because she said she was hot, and she asked if she could walk around with the thermometer under her arm. I said she could. (no fever). Then Ali crawled on the bed to get his temperature taken, and said, "Can I walk around with it?" in the same way Leila had. "It's going to beep in just a minute," I told him. A little later he had it under his arm on his own, and he looked at me seriously and said, "It's going to beep in just a minute." He cracks me up!
Sometimes I'll ask him something about school, or something else, and he'll get grumpy and say, "I don't want to talk about it."

Glad you got it figured out, but sad to hear you have strep!! Sounds like the kids are doing all they can to heal with juice and laughter, two very important remedies! Watch some old movies, that always helps me.

Cynth,

Remember my 6 months of strep? It would come back every time I wore out my body. I'd take two asprin and keep going until I could get to the Dr. (and antibiotics) who always said it didn't look like strep and then always tested it and it was. Finally I went a specialist who told me to gargle with Cepocal every night, take vitamins and get enough rest. He also put me on a low dose of one month antibiotics. It kicked the whole process. I think the Cepocal was a big help. We swear by it now for sore throats.... and of course sleep. until I got better, I thought I was an old woman because every night my body ached by the end of the day even during the months I didn't have the fever.
