I bought a video of "The Vicar of Dibley" that irreverent, pee-your-pants-funny Brit com, and I got to watch an episode this afternoon.
The Vicar is trying to explain the reason for christenings and God's love to two dim bulbs, and says He is like their father- Drunk from dawn to dusk? the woman asks. Yelling alot and calling me an idiot? asks the man. No, the vicar assures them. God will love your baby like you do. And at that, they get it. Not the love their fathers couldn't show them, but the love they have for their own child.
