Art Weekend

The weather was absolutely beautiful for the Cottonwood Art Festival this weekend. We popped over on Saturday before soccer for a short gander with some friends. Then Sunday we made a day of it. Our friends Joy, David, and T came by and then our new soccer friends came by with their dog, and we went over for lots of kid creating. The boys painted back packs and the girls threw pots. Then we looked at ducks, and the I worried that someone would fall into the pond.
Then we lunched on broccoli potato tagine (like quiche), pesto pasta (fresh picked from the garden), and fried shrimp.
Some friends left, but more arrived, and it was back to the festival- girls only this time. We managed to see some of the art before we headed back to the kids area for some tile painting. Worn out, we headed home for icecream, strawberry juice, and kettle corn from the festival.
It was the kind of Cottonwood weekend I like- good weather and lots of friends to enjoy it with. H enjoyed it too, even though he didn't get over to the park since Ali fell asleep. He suggested we have a party next time- but really, that's what we did yesterday, all day long!
(Saturday night I got a girls night out treat with my neighbor- she always gathers a great group of women, and it's so nice to eat someone else's cooking!)
