Fireworks

We went to a 4th of July fireworks show for the first time. Leila had seen fireworks at Disney Land before, but this was a first for Ali- and we were right under them. My ears rang.
We took a picnic with a whole group of friends. There were some naturalized citizens, some green card holders (moi!), an international student, a young man who was born here but spent his whole life in his other country, and the kids age 8 and under all born here. For most of the group it was the first time to celebrate July 4th in any way. We had baked chicken, coleslaw, watermelon, tagine, brique, brownies, and hot mint tea. Super American,no?

Great photos!

We had rain, so I just had supper with some friends, but we still had a good time.

the food sounds great! very melting pot-ish. you're a greencard holder? really? wow. good shots of the fireworks. disneyland's was sadly truncated due to wind; good thing we didn't drive all the way there and mess with parking!
