aging

The other day in LA, I stepped off the shuttle bus and was headed inside, when I heard "Ma'am, ma'am," clearly directed at me. I turned around to find an older man looking at me. "Are you going to Fort Collins?" he asked. "No." I replied. And he proceeded to explain that a red headed cousin of his was headed there and he thought perhaps I was she. "I haven't seen her for over fifty years," he added.
So, I have to wonder. Do I look over 50? Was he exaggerating? Or are the very old blessed with the vision of the very young, which makes anyone between the ages of 30 and 55 look the same age?

he was probably just overcome with wistfulness and wishing you were his kinfolk, because no way do you look like someone could have even MET you fifty years ago.
