Good news for parents

I read yesterday that a child's defiance is probably a sign of good parenting. Children of inconsistent parents know that defiance may get them hit and so they are passive. That was very encouraging, since BOTH my children defy me constantly. Sometimes the evenings when I get home from work feel like one long punishment- for me! Now I'll see them as proof that I'm actually a good mother.
