shoes

Leila walks around in her dress up heels all day sometimes, and the other night she got my strappy 3 inch hills on and managed to wear them for a lot longer than I have lately. Then Ali got H's flip flops and got completely frustrated with them not staying on him. He also likes to wear Leila's little clogs. Yesterday he just could not get one on and he walked around it trying to get his foot at the right angle. When he gets really frustrated he sits down and puts his head on the floor in front of him, between his legs, and cries. He even got one of my heels on, but that didn't last long. Why are my children so obsessed with shoes when I kick mine off upon entering the house? Leila has to put hers on when she gets dressed right after waking up. (This morning I spent a bleary five minutes looking for her other flip flop which was actually where it was supposed to be after I had my coffee.) H is always after me to wear shoes. He tries to convince me, but doesn't understand that I spent my childhood barefoot when not in school. I started wearing shoes more as a teenager because my parents made me wear them to ride the motorcycle. My lucky friends didn't have to.
